It the stain has dried, you may be able to remove larger chunks with a blunt knife, but be careful not to damage the carpet fibres.For dry stains, give the area a quick vacuum after removing any chunks to pick up loose paint flakes..
Mix a cleaning solution using washing up liquid.Add a teaspoon of washing up liquid to 250ml of warm water, then use a clean white cloth to apply this to the stain.. Clean with the solution and a white cloth..Wet a white cloth with the solution, then use this to blot the stain.
The stain should be transferred to the cloth from the carpet.Remember not to scrub!.
Repeat as necessary.
For stains that contain lots of paint, you may also need to repeat step 1 as you go.. Rinse the area with warm water.We don’t recommend spraying the mixture on the carpet directly, as you don’t want to oversaturate it..
When you’ve covered the whole area, let the washing up liquid sit in the carpet for 3-5 minutes, before blotting it up with a different dry cloth (make sure it’s white).Always blot a carpet rather than rub to prevent damage.. To get rid of any remaining solution and dirt, give the area a rinse with cold water and blot it dry again with a different cloth.
Then allow the area to fully air dry before covering it..Finally, when the patch of carpet is completely dry, give it another vacuum..
